Chanler Sparler, Esq.

Chanler graduated from UC Berkeley with a BA in Economics during the Janet Yellen (“Quant”) years with what would have been in later years a ‘minor’ in History.  After working with a San Francisco Trust & Estates attorney he attended and graduated law school at University of Santa Clara with a Juris Doctor.  He passed the California bar and followed his heart to Philadelphia where he passed the Pennsylvania and New Jersey bars as well while working foredeck on a 41’ C&C buoy racing in the Chesapeake Bay – their boat, Blue Max, maintained the coveted ‘High Point’ award during his tenure.  He is admitted to several Federal Districts as well.  Chanler worked with a large bi-coastal firm in the Philadelphia office working on RTC and FDIC matters during the savings and loan crisis.  He returned to the Bay Area and worked with a Ford Motor Company wholly owned subsidiary, First Nationwide Bank, resolving extensive retained post sale liabilities of the bank, including nationwide Construction Defect litigation.  Upon successful resolution, he worked with Oracle Corporation in their Litigation, Trademark and Copyright department during the first “dot.com” crash before going out on his own counselling and representing entrepreneurs in business organization, contracts, collections and litigation.  Chanler has managed his own apartment building in rent-controlled San Francisco Castro District for over 20 years and has first-hand knowledge of the problems faced by owners and property managers.  He has three almost fully grown children and enjoys playing board games with them when they can.  He enjoys skiing, bike riding and warm water swimming.
